These Three Things

I’ll periodically call out interesting stories, important reminders, and cool places I’ve visited. I’m a big fan of small businesses and non-profits and enjoy giving them a modest boost.

  • Hurricane season is winding down, but don’t forget our people in Florida, North Carolina, and elsewhere who will need assistance for a very long time. It’s impossible to wrap our heads around the physical, financial, and emotional burden people are experiencing. A little can go a long way at the Red Cross. And if your company matches your gift, hit them up!

  • If you live in Central Indiana and enjoy new restaurants, give Borage in Speedway a try. Owners Josh Kline and Zoe Taylor have a great place just a few blocks from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (our 8th Wonder of the World). They have a menu full of deliciousness, friendly staff, fair prices, and real plates and bowls! Next time, I’m trying the Turkey Manhattan (they also have a great market).

  • IU Health is in the process of constructing a huge new (and much needed) complex on the north end of downtown Indianapolis and this week rolled out an innovative program that will lead to healthier, more connected neighborhoods in the surrounding area. Check out the plan, reported in Mirror Indy, that literally could extend lives.
