Shutting Out the Noise

Hardly anyone is not interested in the U.S. election. I’ve been interested in it for quite a while now.

Yet, I’m spending today with the television off, and social media unplugged. I’m going to work, go for a walk, and maybe watch a movie until tonight (when, yes, I’ll follow the scores coming in).

Stressful times require moments of Zen, so to speak. Even in Corporate America, I did better before a big presentation when I walked away and grabbed a coffee before the big moment. We’ve had months of shouting, debates, commercials, analysis, speculation, and predictions. Enough is enough. There’s nothing more that cannot wait.

Take some time for yourself today. Care for your mental and physical health. Doomscrolling to see how many people are in line in Pittsburgh probably isn’t the answer. Enjoy your day, whatever you may do.
